My Dilemma
I’ve always thought that an acne/blemish problem needed to be treated with acne specific products. My skin clarity, lack thereof, had been an ongoing issue for over a year. We’ll blame it on hormones, stress + b.s. products that deliver everything but what is promised.
Why + How I Made the Switch
I recently {in the last 4 months} started having laser hair removal + that means no acid based products on the areas being treated. So I was forced to re-evaluate {again} what I was slathering on my skin.
After 2 hours of walking around Ulta, yes two flippin hours + thank goodness it wasn’t a waste, reading label after label I forked over $60 {I can never walk out with just one thing} + walked out with what I hoped would change my then current skin-tuation.
I decided to eliminate all of the products I had been using previously. No more moisturizers, acne cleansers, night creams, etc.
I washed + surprisingly enough didn’t find a moisturizer necessary. The next day all the redness + irritation I had was gone. If I didn’t know any better I would say it was never there to begin with.
Success!
On day two I washed again with the same cleanser using my face brush. Since I didn’t notice any new breakouts I followed with a lavender witch hazel {alcohol-free} to make sure I wasn’t over-drying my skin. We typically have humid weather here but we’ve had some really cold days over the last few weeks which means dry skin if you aren’t careful. Everyday since I’ve been washing my face with Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleanser Soap + have been breakout/blemish free. I also use a mild witch hazel by Thayers as part of my daily skin care routine. Shared that on my Instagram last night + it inspired me to share this post. Aside from those two products that is all I use for daily care. Some of my other skin care needs call for a peel or microdermabrasion treatment every 2-3 weeks + I use an exfoliating scrub about 3 times a week. Unless I do a mini-peel at home I have them done by a professional {don’t want to damage my skin}. But the charcoal sugar scrub I use keeps the dead skin away in between micros + peels.
The Product
So I know that was a bit much to read but if you are having skin issues like I was it’s worth the 5 minutes it took you to get through this post. This cleanser doesn’t promote skin lightening, acne fighting chemicals or cost a ridiculous amount of moolah.

I purchased it from Ulta for $12 + for 8oz of product that is pretty inexpensive! Plus it is cruelty-free so kudos to my guilt-free beauty routine.

I don’t mind the no-nonsense packaging. With somethings you just have to get straight to the point. Those little green bits in there are seaweed + no they don’t smell bad. Really this cleanser doesn’t have much of a scent.

The packaging also has this product labeled as suitable for all skin types. I don’t know how true that is but I have oily/dry combination skin + it stays fairly well-balanced.

So if you are having skin issues I highly recommend you give this cleanser a try. I love this formula so much that I’m thinking I may grab a scrub from this brand so you just may have another great skin care share coming your way.
