It has been so long since I’ve whipped up some body butter but I finally got to it with this organic shea butter from Key West Health & Beauty. I love using butters for skincare whether they’re whipped or not. And probably the greatest thing about them is that they can be used alone or whipped up with other oils. For this whipped body butter I used only the organic shea butter I was given but added a few oils that were already in my stash.

This butter came in a 14 oz jar + I pretty much used all but a few dabs that I tested out before mixing it all up. It works great alone as well!

I used my kitchen mixer + the whisk attachment for the entire process which only took about 15 minutes.

This is mid-mix + it looks really fluffy but it’s still quite dense. You have to always be careful not to mix too fast or too long, especially if you want the fluffy look. I used a mix of black castor oil, jojoba oil + lemon essential oil.

This was after I finished mixing + was satisfied with the consistency, plus it looked like frosting!

And this is the final result. It whipped up over 8 oz (the remainder was still in the bowl when I took this pic).

And if you’ve followed me on Instagram at all you’ve seen this container before. I saved it for a rainy day (after eating all of the yummy ice cream) + it came in handy!
